Hot Water Beach is a great place for learning to surf and our school is here to help teach anybody to ride a wave. We have surf lifesaving, first aid and surf coaching qualifications and give a three hour surf lesson on technique surf awarness, safety and will get you up and riding. Our shop has New Zealand art, surf gears and a great view down the beach. Come surfing!

The Bike Man
Whitianga's only dedicated cycle shop. Come down to Coghill Street, visit Greg and Tina and receive friendly informative service. Greg is a certified Shimano mechanic and can tackle most jobs. They have an enormous range of parts and accessories, most everything related to cycling. They hire bikes for trips around the coast, across on the ferry and sell bike brands such as Giant, Haro, Diamondback and Raleigh.

Whitianga Bike Park - It's FREE!
Developed in Moewai Road (by the airport) by the Bike Club, the park has differing grade trails; open areas with jumps, through bush on easy flats and steep hard riding single track. Bridges and ramps cross waterways. Alongside the carpark are elevated riding platforms, seesaws, jumps and bike wash. The Bikeman and I-Site have trail maps.
